Lighthouse
In 2019 we were chosen by Tendring District council to supply a and erect a bespoke scaffold to Harwich’s historic monument. The scaffold had to be specially designed to withstand tidal forces which was achieved by fixing complex beam work to the concrete base along with tying the scaffold to be lighthouse legs. This enabled surveys to be done to assess what action could be taken to restore the lighthouse to its former glory.
Clacton On-Sea, Pavillion
We were contracted by Clacton Pier’s Pavilion bowl to supply and build a freestanding temporary roof to shield a new attraction being built. The Attraction consisted of a new state of the art child’s water park. It was crucial to complete the projects before he new season started so progress could not be halted by fluctuations in the weather. We provided a swift answer to this by building a temporary roof which was covered with heavy duty mono-flex which kept this project on route to success.
The Kiln, Manningtree
With its peculiar shape, this building posed a welcome challenge when we met with the homeowner to discuss the project. He required access to paint and refurbish the two white turrets at the top. Within two days we designed and erected a bespoke scaffold to meet his requirements, using multiple beams within a cantilever to provide access around the back of the turrets.
Ranelagh Primary School, Ipswich
After it was discovered that several parts of the building’s stonework was fragile and a risk to everyone at the school, Barke Scaffolding was called in urgently to erect a scaffold that could provide support to the building in its weakest places and provide protection from any loose debris that could fall.
King’s Community College, Bury St Edmunds
We were contracted to provide access to the top of this chimney for crucial work to be done to the flue. This project showed the teams diligence as the chimney is set in the middle of the schools roofs that can not be accessed easily. With the chimney standing at approximately 60ft, our team had their work cut out but was able to achieve this within two days.
